I am developing a database application for smart devices using VS2005 and SQL Compact 3.5 Compact SP2. I am tring to get the first record in a table named Customer2 and I tried many techniques for that. I tried to use FIRST() function, TOP, and MIN() function and failed to get it. (ATTENTION from SSMS version 2012 and newer, Sql Server Compact databases are no longer supported by SSMS; You must use SSMS 2008 R2 or OLDER) Note: SQL Server Management Studio cannot open SQL Server Compact 4 files, only SQL Server Compact 3.5 files. Can you try to uninstall everything you have [SQL CE 3.5/4 and CEQuery] and try to install CEQuery for SQL Server 3.5 only from the link in this article? Make sure you have connected to Internet. Let me know if that solves the issue.
