An extensive FAQ and an introductory tutorial help you to understand the app. I got sick of wishing there was a way to get virtually any other fonts installed into pages other than the meager few it had.

I then got sick enough to start checking through the App Store and low and behold this app was just what I needed, the real plus side being the reviews! After using it I can honestly say it's most likely in my top 5 most used/favorite apps I've ever installed. I haven't had any glitches with it to date and once you get the hang of the process (which is easy BTW) you can install fonts 'till your hearts contents. Excellent app and HIGHLY recommended if you do any word processing with Pages at all. I just hope the author keeps up with updates and assuring all of us that it will continue to evolve through the many OS changes yet to come. Developer Response. Just a quick note to think about if you are considering purchasing this app.

The fonts are installed onto your system somehow using a configuration the same way you would install a VPN configuration. (Don’t know if that’s good or bad, just unexpected, especially since the configurations have to install with your permission, with no certificate.) Second I have found very few apps that support fonts that are installed by this app; in fact, to use some of the fonts that I purchased with this app’s bundle in some apps that require a drag and drop or direct link to the fonts I have had to purchase the font features in those apps. And don’t expect to be able to change any system fonts with this app.

But does work with some apps. Never can tell, except if app says it supports installing your own fonts, then 95% of the time these fonts will NOT work. As I said before, I love this app, as I download fonts all the time for my stories. It has never failed to download anything that I desired. However, just after the second AnyFont update I noticed that I cannot download any fonts anymore. I tried clearing the apps from my history, restarting my iPad, and even deleting some of my old fonts just to see if that would help. To my dismay, it didn’t.

Can anyone help me with this? Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

FreeType is a freely available software library to render fonts. It is written in C, designed to be small, efficient, highly customizable, and portable while capable of producing high-quality output (glyph images) of most vector and bitmap font formats.

Some products that use FreeType for rendering fonts on screen or on paper, either exclusively or partially: • and other free Unix operating system derivates like or; •, Apple's mobile operating system for iPhones and iPads; •, Google's operating system for smartphones and tablet computers; •, Google's operating system for laptop computers; •, a free open source operating system based on the best design principles found in the Windows NT architecture; •, a PostScript interpreter used in many printers. Counting the above products only, you get more than a billion devices that contain FreeType.

2018-01-08 FreeType version 2.9, the first release of a new ‘minor’ series, is now available for download. The main reason for starting a new series is Ewald Hew's GSoC contribution of making Adobe's CFF engine handle Type 1 fonts also, greatly improving the rendering quality of this ancient but still important font format. If you are going to use variation fonts, please update to this version since it comes with some important fixes.

More information on this and other changes can be found. FreeType 2.8.1. 2017-09-16 FreeType 2.8.1 has been released. This is mainly a maintenance release with one important change: By default, FreeType now offers high quality LCD-optimized output without resorting to ClearType techniques of resolution tripling and filtering. In this method, called Harmony, each color channel is generated separately after shifting the glyph outline, capitalizing on the fact that the color grids on LCD panels are shifted by a third of a pixel. This output is indistinguishable from ClearType with a light 3-tap filter. See for a extensive list of changes; noteworthy bug fixes are correct handling of B/W TrueType hinting and some OpenType variation font handling issues.
