The main theme of the thesis presents Schmidt's works in present-day Slovenia. He planned two churches, one in Kočevje, and one in Bled. Both of them represent one of the key historicist buildings in Slovenia. The thesis is based on these two churches – on their history and architectural description. We tried placing both churches into the architect’s oeuvre and evaluating the meaning of the buildings for Slovenian architecture of this period. We also made a comparison of each church with other Schmidt’s works.
